Projects: one card for deals, construction sites and engineering projects
How to create a project, link deals, construction sites and engineering projects to it, who sees what, and why Projects links do not move money.
What it is
A project is a shared card holding the customer, the person in charge, the dates and the stage. Records from different modules are linked to it: CRM deals, construction sites and engineering projects. The records themselves stay in their own modules — the project only groups them. Page: ERP → Projects (/erp/projects).
Create a project
From the Projects page: click New project → name, stage, customer, manager, start date and deadline, currency and budget. ThePRJ-#### code is assigned automatically.
From an existing record: in the header of a deal, construction site or engineering project click Projects → Create project from this record. The name is optional — it is taken from the record. The record becomes the project's origin.
If an active project already exists for that record, the system does not create a duplicate; it opens the existing one.
Link a record to a project
The Projects button in the record header → Add to project → pick a project. A record can belong to several projects at once: the header shows "Project X, +2". Link role: Deliverable, Reference or Related. You do not need to link the project's origin separately — it is already on the card. To take a record out of a project, click Remove from project on the card. The record itself is not deleted.Stages
Draft → Planned → Active → On hold → Done / Cancelled.Archive and templates
- Archive makes the project read-only; its links are kept. A new project can then be created from the same origin. Restore puts it back to work.
- Templates (the "Templates" filter) are blueprints for creating new projects. Managers can create and archive them.
Who sees what
| Permission | Default for | Grants | |---|---|---| |projects.read | employee | see cards and linked records |
| projects.write | employee | create, edit, link |
| projects.manage | manager | archive and restore, templates |
You see each linked record only if you have access to it in its own module (deals in CRM, sites in Construction, and so on). Records you cannot access are fully hidden, and they are excluded from counters too.
Plan limit
Your plan caps the number of active projects (max_active_projects). Archived projects, templates, and projects in the Done or Cancelled stage do not count. When you reach the limit, archive or finish a project, or upgrade your plan.
